From the bride: My now husband proposed in Point Clear, Alabama on the water. It was before breakfast, so I wasn’t exactly prepared. It was perfect. Although, you would have to ask him what he actually said as he was down on one knee. I was too busy crying.

I wanted to look romantic and classic. We got married in a large, beautiful old church in New Orleans. I wanted my dress to match this stunning church. I think it fit perfectly. I actually bought another dress for my wedding. However, I let coming back to the photo of the essence dress. One day, I decided to take the plunge. Without ever trying on the dress, I called the closest salon that carried it, and I ordered it. Everyone thought I was crazy, but I just knew. Although it needed alterations, it was my perfect dress.

Our theme was classic and romantic. Our colors were burgundy, champagne, and blush. Our reception was held in a restaurant called Tomas Bistro. It had chandeliers, exposed brick and large wooden beams. We had flowers spilling out of gold lanterns. I carried a cascading bouquet with dahlias and other exotic flowers. The second line with the classic New Orleans band was so fun. Our guests loved it! I am from Alabama, and my husband is from Mexico. We combined our traditions in many ways. Our ceremony featured exchanging of coins. In lieu of a grooms cake, we did personal servings of tres leche. We also had the band play quite a diverse mix of music. It was, by far, the best night of our lives.

My most special memory was reading the letter my husband wrote me that I read before our wedding. Our day was incredible! The big church, the second line, and the party of a reception were all amazing!
