Real Essense of Australia Bride Charlotte + Lee

Picture-perfect is how Charlotte describes her Cancun, Mexico destination wedding. From the flowers, to the food, to stunning Essense of Australia strapless wedding dress, everything was documented gorgeously by Photoshop at Riu Palace Peninsula.

From the Bride: Seeing my husband-to-be having his picture taken before the wedding under a palm tree on the beach was my most-special memory of the day. He looked gorgeous. He didn’t see me, but all of my nerves just disappeared and I knew at that moment that I was where I was meant to be. The very second I met my husband, I knew I was going to marry him. It’s cheesy, but I loved him as soon as I saw him.

Our wedding was perfect. The location, the weather, everything was so much better than what I thought it would be. We didn’t really have a reason as to why we picked Mexico, we just wanted to be somewhere beautiful. Our immediate family were the only ones to attend – there was 10 of us in total – so it was very small but completely perfect.

I was really nervous about getting married abroad. I wanted everything to be right for us, so it was strange not feeling totally in control. All we really had to do was turn up! The wedding coordinator was brilliant. We met with her a week before the wedding and she went through what we’d like in amazing detail.

On the day, we couldn’t have imagined anything better. The flowers were gorgeous, the food was out of this world and it was all just so laid back yet well organized.

We would definitely recommend getting married abroad – just make sure you do a bit of research and pick a hotel with a good name for itself. Also, don’t be scared of packing your wedding dress into a suitcase – if you go somewhere as hot and humid as Mexico, the creases drop out in no time!

We had a blessing service and party when we got home so I got to wear my amazing wedding dress again! It was like getting married twice to my perfect man – what could be better?
