“Magical.” That’s the word Real Essense of Australia Bride Erica wanted to describe her big day. When you see these photos, you’ll agree that the Hardestys threw a breathtaking wedding!

It all started with the sweetest proposal.
“There is a place in Birmingham called The Club. It is this incredible restaurant that overlooks the entire city of Birmingham! It’s beautiful. David told me that he wanted to take me on a date there the day after Thanksgiving. I didn’t think much of it because he’s always been so good about taking me out on dates and things like that. We ate dinner there and then at the end of dinner he said he wanted to walk out on their patio to look at the city lights. We walked out and he asked me to close my eyes, he said he had a surprise for me – I was still clueless! He guided me to the end of the balcony and then asked me to open my eyes. As I opened them, I saw the city scape, candles surrounding us, and a bouquet of roses with a little black box next to them. I immediately knew! David got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I’m still absolutely confident in my answer. He is such a gift and truly my best friend!”
Just as sure as she was of her fiance, Erica knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding day details. “The colors were dusty rose, blush pink, mauve, creams, and lots of greenery! It all came together so beautifully. It was everything I wanted and more. I wanted to keep it simple, but still have a very romantic feel! It was the most perfect day!
“We are both very simple people, but we are passionate about our families and friends. We have been blessed with the most incredible support system! With that being said, we wanted them to feel apart of the entire day. David’s dad is a pastor at Church of the Highlands, so we asked him to officiate our wedding. We were so grateful we did, it made it all so personal and special! My sister is also an incredible singer, so we asked that she sing a song during our time of communion, it was absolutely beautiful. The family all chipped in to help decorate and help with the last few touches, and then we all celebrated with a big dance party at the reception!”

“I wanted something that was flowy and magical! When I put this dress on, I immediately felt so beautiful, and I felt that it enhanced my beauty, but didn’t steal the show. It was so comfortable and David LOVED it! The shopping experience was incredible. I had my mom and sister with me and this was the fourth dress I tried on and I knew right away that this was it! All the tears!”
Her favorite moment? “My absolute most special memory from the day was the moment the doors of the chapel opened and I saw David at the end of the aisle. Next to him was his father and grandfather.. I knew in a moment that this was my absolute best yes.”
