An elegant day full of unique, DIY touches, real Essense of Australia bride, Heather, brought the romance to her childhood stomping grounds. Her lace wedding dress added the perfect vintage-inspired touch to the day, and seriously, can you not just feel the romance radiating from these two?!
From the bride: Our proposal took place while we were on a road trip. One of the days we were watching the sun rise over the mountains/canyons in Kings Canyon National Park (California). Right before we left the panoramic spot, he surprised me by getting on one knee and proposing!
We had our wedding at a beautiful venue located right on Lake Michigan, so out on the patio right off the dining room was the beautiful blue lake (I grew up on Lake Michigan, so this was special for me!). We are big DIY-ers, so we spent a lot of time and hard work making all of our own decorations (signs, centerpieces, activities, favors, ceremony program, etc), so every detail had a lot of love poured into it for our guests. Our colors were navy (primary) with sage green (secondary), and our theme was heavily based on nature (since we love being outdoors, and traveling!). Â Our wedding style was elegant, romantic, with lots of little details (I absolutely love the small stuff!).
By far the best part of the day was committing our vows to each other in front of all our closest loved ones!
