Real Essense of Australia Bride Elizabeth + Wade

Real Essense of Australia bride, Elizabeth and her husband, Wade made the effort to plan their wedding day together, even surprisingly to him, her wedding dress – Essense of Australia style D1802! Read on to hear from this sweet couple and their personal wedding day.

From the bride: At the time of our engagement, Wade and I were in a long-distance relationship. He was in Seattle, WA finishing up his masters degree and I was starting my first job in Kansas City. Wade had accepted an offer at an engineering firm in Kansas City and was making a trip down to look at apartments. He bought the ring in Seattle and had it shipped to Kansas City, creating a bit of spontaneity with the proposal timing!

After dinner, Wade asked if I wanted to go for a walk. He took me to the exact spot where, years earlier, we had sat watching a cute young family getting pictures taken and decided Kansas City was a place we both felt we could someday call home. It was in this spot that Wade got down on one knee and asked if I would be his forever!

Everything about our day revolved around simple elegance. We chose a venue that didn’t need additional glitz and glam, but rather a personal touch. My father-in-law built us the most beautiful arch we were able to say our vows under, my husband used his wood-working talents and built our place card holders and my father created a sentimental video that was shown during our father-daughter dance. Our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be- the perfect blending of two families.

The first look was the most special memory from Wade & my special day. He had no idea what my dress looked like, that had been one of the very few secrets I was able to keep from him.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Wade was very involved with decision-making. We made sure it was OUR big day, not just MY big day. He helped choose everything except my wedding dress…or so he thought. We had looked on Pinterest together- mostly I was looking and he was creeping over my shoulder. I scrolled by Essense of Australia style D1802 and he stopped me and absolutely raved about the dress. Sexy, but elegant; romantic, but trendy. I pinned the dress, he never thought anything of it again.

Our first look was so special because he was not only seeing me all dolled up for the first time, but he was seeing the dress he picked out! His face was priceless and the moment is surely one neither of us will forget.
