Megan and Daniel would not let COVID-19 stop their love. Instead of having the wedding they had planned for months, this couple eloped instead, proving that love cannot be canceled. Read on to hear more about their incredible story.
Daniel and I got engaged on the slopes of our local ski resort during the firework show they have on New Year’s Eve. After months and months of planning, we had finally nailed down the wedding of our dreams. Unfortunately, the universe had some other ideas.
We got married right at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, so this was a very memorable time for many. We had every detail for our wedding planned out for our April celebration. Once the pandemic hit, we had to make very difficult decisions about what our day was going to look like considering the circumstances. We decided that we still wanted to get married on our original date because it was more about our marriage, not the wedding itself. We had a ceremony with just us and our pastor (and our photographer). Looking into my new husband’s eyes on a mountain top is something we will never forget!
I wanted my bridal style to be fresh, natural, and elegant. My dress shopping experience was very laid back- I tried on three dresses and immediately knew this was the dress for me! The ladies at Amanda’s Touch Bridal helped me get my dress on time and made sure I had the dress of my dreams even though my plans had changed.
Even though we eloped, we still plan on having a post-wedding celebration with our friends and family in 2021. It will still be the warm and inviting day we had always planned, just a little bit later.
