Best Face Masks for Winter Skin

Winter is well on its way bringing with it the thought of hot chocolates by the fire and cozy nights, it also brings with it dry and parched winter skin. Warm air, fireside snuggles and the fact our body naturally decreases sebum production in the winter month’s means we need to stay vigilant about extra moisture and hydration for our skins and this is especially so if you have an upcoming spring wedding. Stay on a great skin routine and you can have the enviable skin you dream of on your wedding day!

I’m a multitasker by nature, who wants to spend unnecessary time adding too many things to your beauty routine? Masks are the perfect multitasker; you can chat on the phone or watch Game of Thrones and take care of your skin’s hydration simultaneously! I LOVE masks. I have at least 5 sheet masks in my bathroom at any given time. I have a few for my face and a couple for my eyes. But you can also make your own with a minimum of fuss and a few ingredients you may find in your refrigerator or cupboard.

Here are a few you may want to try this winter to maintain your glow in the snow!

My favourite home mask is designed by my favourite skin guru and friend in LALA land, the amazing and very gorgeous Mia Belle, who is one of Hollywood’s go-to paramedical aesthetician’s. Her advice is always golden and sound. This mask is simple and nourishing.

Nourishing Egg White mask

Whip together 1 egg white, 1/5 of an avocado, 1 teaspoon of Greek yogurt and a drop of honey. Leave on for 15 minutes and remove with cool water. Make sure you seal in the moisture by applying a moisturiser after removing the mask.

Lemon Love

Another at home winner is for tired skin that needs a little love. Try the juice of a lemon, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of olive oil. The sugar and lemon exfoliate dead skin cells and the oil hydrates your skin back to its dewy, calm and refreshed self.

Sheet Masks (insert angel choir)

Can I get an amen ladies..try some celebrity favourites like KNC beauty all natural lip mask $25 which is a go to for Emma Stone and Kim Kardashian or the lace and luxe Dermovia lace your face hydrating Rose water mask $15 that gives that glow to our girl Jessica Biel. Pink’s favourite mask is the Bioxidea USA Miracle all in one anti-aging facial treatment $29.

All of these are very affordable and very easy ways to keep your skin tight and right this winter and ready for your wedding day.
