Best Bridal Hair Accessories

It’s all in the details. There is no more a truer statement than this when planning your wedding day. Now you’ve found your dream Essense of Australia wedding dress it’s now a question “to veil or not to veil?” It’s such a personal detail. Sometimes this is dictated by the location you decide to Say I Do in or as simple as your personal preference. I decided not to veil. In fact, it was never in consideration. I chose to wear a cape instead. I just love the drama of a cape. It really is a decision on whether you think a veil will transform your dress or not. I chose a stunning Martina Liana gown without embellishments so by adding a custom cape that voided any idea of a veil. The gown was chic, elegant and understated and the cape added a touch of drama. It was my dream in a dress.

So what hair accessories can you wear on your wedding day if a veil is not an option? Let’s explore some options that are the epitome of timeless style and allure.

HAT– I’m talking Bianca Jagger or Amal Clooney chic wide brim pure white hat. Classic, stylish and oh so stunning that is perfect for a destination wedding or bride who takes her cool and edginess all the way to the altar.

EMBELLISHED HAIR COMBS– These can be small in size or as a focal piece. These are easy to place and really add some divine sparkle to your look.

HEADBAND –I love a simple headband of lace for a chic BoHo bride or an embellished headband that captures your eye with just a hint of sparkle. Never ever underestimate the power of a simple ribbon headband with the bow placed off centre at the back of your head.

HALO’S-A halo adds a level of cool and fashion forwardness to a wedding look. Worn simply around the crown of your head, it’s an effortless way to add style without adding too much glam.

WREATHS-I think a floral wreath on a bride is breathtakingly stunning. I love a large piece that is more vintage inspired and less colourful-it’s a real showstopper in my opinion.

HAIR CHAINS-hair chains can be added and layered throughout your hairstyle which looks every bit the trendsetting bride. An understated chain always remains in style with small embellishments that add interest and beauty.

CROWN-Crowns or tiaras have come back with a vengeance. The re-emergence of the tiara also has come with some fashion-forward styles that add some modernity to your wedding gown.

RETRO PINS– For the retro bride, these pins add flare and uniqueness to your hairstyle with a couple of pins clipped together for maximum effect.

FLOWERS– Gisele Bundchen wore a simple white rose behind her ear when marrying football great Tom Brady. Still today it is one of my all-time favourite looks on a bride ever. Granted it was Giselle, but the simplicity of the look never overwhelmed her beautiful face.

HAIR VINE– With the Pinterest bridal braids having its moment in the sun in terms of bridal hairstyles, these hair vines add something special to the braids and some glamour and style to the hair, which becomes every bit a focal point as your beautiful dress.
