Bachelor in Paradise Star Krystal Talks about her Martina Liana Wedding Dress

Bachelor in Paradise star Krystal Nielson (@coachKrystal) recently tied the knot wearing a wedding dress by Martina Liana – Style 905. We sat down with the bride to talk all things weddings – from the dress, to her vision and advice she has for future brides.

What was your initial bridal vision?

When I started shopping for my wedding gown, I went in without the expectations of what my “perfect wedding dress” looked like because I didn’t want to limit the potential of what dress would find me. For years I’d imagined a long-sleeved lace and open-back style but when we found out that the wedding would be in humid Puerto Vallarta (in mid-June!) I knew that I needed to switch it up!

What made this Martina Liana gown stand out from the rest?

I had my dress fitting with my stylist Cary just 30-days before the wedding! I walked into his apartment and found over 32 gorgeous dresses strung around the room and I got hit with this Princess Diaries moment of pure giddiness. As I was trying on each gorgeous dress, I felt a different side of my personality emerge; from fun to playful, elegant and enchanting, to sexy and sassy. As extravagant as some of those other designer dresses were I felt that they were overpowering me… that is until I tried on my Martina Liana. This simple, yet elegant dress felt absolutely effortless. So 26 dresses and 14 hours later, I finally had the one!

How did you feel in this gown?

When I first saw my dress I was just stunned with the lace detail, honey tones, and form-flattering cuts. When I tried it on, I felt so elegant, yet bohemian and free-spirited.

What was your favorite detail of the gown?

I loved the long lace train on the dress!

What three words would you use to describe this gown?

Classy, simple yet stunning.

What was your favorite memory from saying yes to your wedding dress?

Before I officially said yes, my stylist Cary spent a good hour pinning it to make sure we felt confident with the fit. As I stood in front of the mirror, I felt an overwhelming peace subside through me. I was shifting into a new woman. A woman confident in herself and who no longer sought the validation of others to feel worthy, beautiful and happy. I knew that this was the dress I would wear to mark that day.

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?

My favorite memory on my wedding day was walking down the aisle. It felt symbolic that I was leaving my past behind and walking towards my future and into a new life with my husband by my side.

What piece of advice would you give for a bride-to-be when she goes dress shopping?

Be sure to try on every single style because you never know what dress is calling to you!
